Simply Loco

Tomorrow, Sunday, is the annual Locos parade when Mexicans strut their loco costumes and such. A group has been practicing all week. In fact, they’ve now paraded down our street five times this week. Last night, they paraded by the house at 10:00pm and this morning we were awakened by fireworks and church bells at 6:00am. The kids weren’t too happy about the fireworks as they sounded like they were

S.O.M.E. Mother’s Day Luncheon

S.O.M.E. (So Others May Eat) held their weekly lunch at the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel and celebrated Mother’s Day by handing our roses and aprons to all the women. It was a beautiful event—including a mariachi band. Bill waited tables are there were over 200 people in attendance. Here are some of my favorite photos from the event. Enjoy! P.S. This was the first time I asked the folks

Hummies

It was busy in Centro with weddings (bride

The Murals of Colonia Guadalupe

Saturday morning Kathy and I took a tour of the murals in Colonia Guadalupe. San Miguel de Allende is made up of about a dozen Colonias. Colonia Guadalupe is known for it’s murals. Up until 2013 it was against the law to paint murals in San Miguel de Allende. The tour was great fun and very informative. Here are some of my favorite murals. Enjoy!

So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E.)

Serving food to those who are hungry in San Miguel de Allende is a monumental task and this organization serves food to these wonderful people every Wednesday. Bill volunteers to help serve food and today I joined him to take some photos of these folks and the volunteers who make it all possible. Today, children presented warm clothing to the seniors. Enjoy!
