This weekend marks the 100th anniversary of the La Alborada celebration in San Miguel de Allende. We went to the Jardin and caught a couple of the groups dancing and celebrating the holiday. The Locos were there with their crazy masks and an “Indian” group with dancers and drums performed in front of the Parroquia.
By the time we got over to the parade route on Canal street it was so packed with people we weren’t really able to see much of the parade. I’ve posted some photos of the La Alborada parade from a few years back. If you’d like to see some of the wonderful costumes, click here.
