On this last trip to San Miguel de Allende, I met up with our friend Kathy in Leon. She was transporting a new Yorkie named Gringo to her friends, Jackie and Patrick, in SMA. I just returned from San MIguel de Allende. I stayed with our friends Michael and Kathy. Kathy and I probably walked about 20 miles during the week I was there, but it was worth every step as we got some really fun photos of the city. Enjoy!
Last night was the Dia de Los Muertos party at the Instituto de Allende. Lots of people showed up in costume for the event. Here are a few photos from the evening. Enjoy!
Let the party begin. This evening Bill and I went to Fabrica Aurora for one of the first of many parties celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. We’re told this is sort of a dress rehearsal for the big celebration later next week. There were quite a few folks in costume and I tried to get a few fun photos which wasn’t easy with all the people around. Enjoy!
Yesterday, Bill and I visited Cañada de la Virgen which is a pyramid located about 40 minutes southeast of San Miguel de Allende. It was really something to see. Yesterday, Bill and I drove to Dolores Hildago. Along the way we once again stopped in Atotonilco. In Atotonilco, we visited the Galeria de Atotonilco where we toured the folk art gallery. They had the most amazing items in the gallery. We met Susan and Mayer, the owners of the gallery. They live on the property and their home is stunning. This morning Bill and I drove to the little town of Atotonilco. It’s located about 8 miles outside San Miguel and is the home to the Galeria Atotonilco and the Sanctuary de Atotonilco.
