Walking around San Miguel
Kathy, ReAnn and I just walked around town Monday morning and here are some of the sights we found along the way. Oh, and it’s Monday so of course there has to be a parade. Enjoy!
Charco Del Ingenio
Kathy, ReAnn and I visited Charco Del Ingenio (botanical gardens) yesterday. I thought we might see a lot of flowers, but the blooming season has past. What we did find were all kinds of unusual critters. I have no idea what kind of bugs these are, but I’ve never seem them in the states. The gardens are located above town and it was a nice way to spend the morning.
San Miguel de Allende St. Michael’s Parade Dancers
I walked into Centro this morning to do some shopping. This weekend is the St. Michael’s celebration. They’ve had parades and fireworks all weekend, but I thought the festivities were finished. Wrong! They had another parade this morning. I didn’t have my camera, but I managed to get some video on my phone. Enjoy!
Bronce a la cera perdida
There is a new (to me) art installation adjacent to the El Jardin. It’s a large bronze statue of an angel in a boat. It is very cool! Here are a few photos of the angel, the parroquia (church) and a wonderful trumpet man. Enjoy!
Fashion Week | San Miguel de Allende
Kathy and I walked up to the El Jardin one evening to watch the fashion show. Vicente Fox and his wife were there. It was a lot of fun and some very nice fashion. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
Walkabout | San Miguel de Allende
I just returned from San MIguel de Allende. I stayed with our friends Michael and Kathy. Kathy and I probably walked about 20 miles during the week I was there, but it was worth every step as we got some really fun photos of the city. Enjoy!
Dia de Los Muertos at Instituto de Allende
Last night was the Dia de Los Muertos party at the Instituto de Allende. Lots of people showed up in costume for the event. Here are a few photos from the evening. Enjoy!
Dia de Los Meurtos
Let the party begin. This evening Bill and I went to Fabrica Aurora for one of the first of many parties celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. We’re told this is sort of a dress rehearsal for the big celebration later next week. There were quite a few folks in costume and I tried to get a few fun photos which wasn’t easy with all the people around. Enjoy!
Cañada de la Virgen
Yesterday, Bill and I visited Cañada de la Virgen which is a pyramid located about 40 minutes southeast of San Miguel de Allende. It was really something to see.
