Easter weekend in Cathedral City includes the LGBT Days celebration in downtown Cathedral City. One of the premier events is the bed race. This year in the 4th annual bed race and it featured the Cathedral City fire and police departments, Del Shores and Ann Walker (of Sordid Lives fame), the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and College of the Desert. There was a great crowd to cheer the teams on and at the end of the day, the fireman pulled off a very close win—just edging out the police department.

The fire department donated the winning prize of 5 beautiful bicycles to the Boys and Girls Club of the Desert.
