I had the privilege of visiting the butterfly sanctuary in Michoacán this past week. I went on a tour with my friend Kathy and her granddaughter Chloe. We stayed at the Agua Blanca Spa the first night and then drove to the sanctuary the next day.

I have to say… the sanctuary was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. There were Monarch butterflies everywhere—in the sky, on the trees, on the ground and on the visitors. What a fantastic trip!!! I hope you enjoy the photos although they don’t even begin to show the splendor of this yearly event.
