It seems lately that you can’t open anything on the internet without seeing something about artificial intelligence—especially in the area of photography. Artificial intelligence is pretty amazing and folks are creating a lot of incredible content using it, but I’m not interested (right now) in creating something that doesn’t truly exist.
I’ve always loved watercolor paintings, but I’ve never been very good at it. Maybe 40-50 years ago I could have become a watercolor artist, but today I simply don’t have the patience to learn what I believe is one of the more difficult forms of art. So…
While death-scrolling the web I ran across a tutorial on how to create a watercolor from a photo using Photoshop’s (AI) Generative Fill. Spoon Graphics produced an excellent tutorial on how to create watercolor paintings from a photos. You can watch the tutorial here.
Below are some samples of watercolors that I created from my photos. I’ve set things up so you can see the original photo and the watercolor I created using the generative fill in Photoshop. Enjoy!
