This morning Bill and I drove to the little town of Atotonilco. It’s located about 8 miles outside San Miguel and is the home to the Galeria Atotonilco and the Sanctuary de Atotonilco. We’re going back on Friday with some friends, but we wanted to make sure we could find the places we wanted to see. If you want to tour the Galeria, you must make an appointment, but the church is open everyday so we’re going to go inside the church on Friday and tour the galeria. The church is described as the “Sistine Chapel of Mexico” because it houses some beautiful frescos. For more information about the church/sanctuary, visit Wikipedia.

This Friday we’ll travel once again to Atotonilco on our way to Dolores Hidalgo. In the mane time, I hope you enjoy these photos.
