Tierra Blanco

Last week my friend, Randy, and I took a ride out to Tierra Blanco. It’s a small town about 1.5 hours from San Miguel de Allende. The town has a couple of churches and a jardin in the center. We had lunch at a small “cafe” which consisted of a woman cooking out on the sidewalk and a single table inside. We enjoyed some delicious gorditas. We got a little

S.O.M.E. Portraits

I’ve been taking photos of the seniors and volunteers at S.O.M.E. I started out just taking some photos of the wonderful seniors, but now I’ve been getting prints made for them and I think they really enjoy them. I was told that the seniors will use the photos on their alters for Did de Los Muertos. How cool! Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Visiting Ensenada

Bill and I decided to get out of San Miguel for a few days so we caught and flight to Tijuana and then drove down to Ensenada. We stayed in a wonderful hotel called Punta Morro and saw most of the sights. Our favorite part of the trip was when we drove to La Bufadora (the blower). It’s a small town located all the way out on the southern point

Bernal Road Trip

I had to take the Harley in for a service so Bill (with Juliet) and I decided to add a road trip to Bernal. What a wonderful little town! Lots of shops and restaurants in the central part of the town and it was very easy to get to. You can definitely park you car and walk around the whole town. We had some great tacos for lunch and did

Visita de las Siete Casas

We started our evening by walking up to Camino Silvestre for an art show. They had this wonderful old saddle sitting out on the patio and a violinist playing. It’s a wonderful store and they had some very nice art. Last evening was the Visita de las Siete Casas when all the churches set up an alter of Jesus Christ in different stages before his death. The town was packed

San Miguel de Allende: Friday of Sorrows

Her alter itself is decorated with bitter oranges, sprouts of wheat and purple paper picado (cut paper) banners.” —Atención Bill and I walked around town yesterday to view some of the public alters. It was busy in Centro with weddings (bride
